My favorite Game of all time

My favorite game of all time is the 2001 LionHead game Black & White (As well as the expansion pack Creature Isle, which could be argued to be a different game all together.) It's a rather old game, having come out in 2001 before Windows XP was released.

In this game you play as a God, and on the first land you look after a village called Eden.

There are other Biblical and Religion references in the game. Like in Creature Isle, the mystery creature is named Eve.


   You're not alone on your journey as a God, you have your own little pet known as your creature. You can choose between a Cow, Ape, and Tiger. The Ape being the smartest and the cow being the least bright of the three. The creatures were always one of my favorite parts of the game.

One of the things I love about Black & White is despite it's age it's got great little details.


If you zoom in on the barrel by the village store, you can see a little worm wiggling inside the apple.

It looks like a lot of love and care was put into these bricks inside the temple. Also kudos to the  simple yet beautiful mural above the scroll.

The creature cave has a paradise sort of feel and I love it.

   I feel I need to make a new post entirely to show the beauty of this room.

This post serves as kind of an intro. I intend to make quite a few Blakc & White posts for the time being, as it's hard for me to think of blog ideas and I get into a rut in terms of post ideas. So I write about things I enjoy. I might make posts in between posts of this game, or maybe not even post a new one for a while. I'm not sure how it'll go down.
